This cafe we´ve visited several times. There is just something about it, maybe the retro style. And why not cause this cafe is quite vintage-like. It was open in the year 1902 and never been closed. Until 1948, here everything was destroyed. No need for comments i guess. Even though the history is quite similar to its cafe sister just couple meters away - cafe Slavia - i prefer this one more. The thing is, that tourists don´t know about it much. It is not a touristy magnet or hotspot and so the prices are lower and the staff is nice. You can visit for a cake, breakfast or an afternoon sandwich, you will like it any part of the day.
We paid 365,- for our breakfast, which is ruffly 14EUR / 16USD
V této kavárně jsme byli již několikrát. Mě osobně se líbí ten retro styl. Jsem prostě na různé věci vintage a tahle kavárna je z roku 1902. Pouze jednou byl její provoz přerušena to v roce 1948, kde bylo zničeno i její vybavení a prostory. Víc asi netřeba dodat. Atmosféra je tu stále hezká, ne tak turistická a nablýskaná, jako třeba v kavárně Slavia jen o kousek dál. Můžete si sem zajít jak na snídani, zákusek, tak i na odpolední sendvič či zahrát billiard apod.

We found this waffles store one day with my family, when we actually decided to take them for a walk through out Prague. We woke up late and never had breakfast and my mom and sister eat too soon and they were hungry again. So we had a little brunch i guess. When we saw the waffle written on the door and smelled the coffee, we were hooked immediately. This place does not have that many places to sit, it´s pretty small, but if you can do not sit by the kitchen window. It can get noisy there and even hot. Interesting is, that whatever place we visit, their waffles taste differently, but never complained.
Here i got waffles with seasonal fruits, Marple syrup and a matcha latte and Mathew obviously got himself an English breakfast and freshly squeezed orange juice. For all that we paid ruffly 440,- (i don´t remember it and obviously threw away the slip). 17 EUR / 19,5 USD
Na tento obchod s wafflemi jsme narazili jednou ráno, když jsme se šli projít a doma zrovna nebyl ani krajíc chleba. Waffle jsou tak trochu srdcová záležitost a tak jsme neotáleleli a spolu s mamkou a ségrou se usadili. Prostor je menší a čím blíže ke kuchyni tím větší teplo. Poslední stoleček u výdejního okénka není nejlepším pro klidnou snídani. Waffle mají opravdu výborné. Setkali jsme se již s podnikem, kde waffle měly zvláštní chuť. Plastovou? Nevím jak to nazvat, ale jednoznačně nebyly tak nadýchané. Tady jsme si naštěstí pochutnali i na čerstvém ovoci, matcha latte a čerstvě vymačkaném džusu. Já jsem si objednala waffle se sezónním ovocem, polité javorovým sirupem a k tomu matcha latte. Mathew si dal typickou anglickou snídani s čerstvým pomerančovým džusem. Za tyhle mňamky jsme platili 435,-. To už je dražší záležitost, za to bychom mohli mít někde i oběd, ale pochutnali jsme si a jednou za čas se to nezblázní že?
Great think about this place is, that it´s further from the centre and so without the groups of tourists bumping into you all the time. It is also very close to the metro, so you are not able to get lost (unless you are like Mathew, who gets lost even in a supermarket). This cafe/bistro/restaurant is owned by Asian people and so you can see that variety of Asian meals took control of the menu. Everything was delicious even our maracuja drink, that was amazing, just that it took longer and the lady who served us was not the happiest around. The menu is Asian, but the inside or the interior is something between minimalistic, urban and creative. Very lovely concept, but some tables are just badly positioned, like our one for example right by the door and counter so we had people bumping into us all the time. If you want to prevent this, go early morning, when they open or try to sit outside, there you can oftentimes enjoy even live music coming from the food markets just across the street.

Tento podnik byl pro nás výhodný svou polohou. Jednak je ihned u metra a ještě navíc v klidnější části Prahy bez turistů. - Jiřího z Poděbrad. Kavárna/restaurace má asijské vlastníky a to se promítlo do menu, kde najdete spoustu tamních vynikajících jídel jako například Cháo s tropickým ovocem či Bun bo nam bo. Obsluha byla bohužel trochu nabručená a trvalo jim to docela dlouho (24minut od objednání - v tomhle jsem trochu magor). Interiér je velice kreativní jde do industriálního, přírodního i minimalistického vzhledu. Stolečky jsou však malinké a na nás zbyl ten u dvěří, takže jsme měli neustále lidi prodírající se kolem nás. Pokud by to na vás bylo příliš hektické, jako to bylo pro nás, pak se můžete posadit venku. Jedná se spíše o lavičky, i co se stolu týče, a mohlo by to být s jídlem trochu nepohodlné, nicméně budete mít výhled na trhy, kde je mnohdy i hudba.
