Every time January 1st comes around, people go crazy about all of the things they want to change ... either stop or start doing such as:
I will never eat sweet stuff again
I will exercise every day of the week
I will stop being jealous and arguing
I will read more
I will start new course
Just try to scroll through any social media and people will give you HUNDREDS of ‘New Year’s Resolution Ideas for you to pick and choose from. Gym memberships are definitely on top of the iceberg, healthy cookbooks disappear off the shelves of bookstores and all sorts of sugary food ends up in bin. Journals are filled with all sorts of promises we make to ourselves and the people around us. Unfortunately up to 80% of people give up by the second month.
WHY YOU SHOULD STOP MULTITASKING?
3 reasons why you should set goals over resolutions:
New Year´s Resolutions are too big and big dreams are achieved by millions of tiny little things.
1. Purpose – Goals help you live intentionally. When we make goals they give us clear objectives and take us beyond hoping to actual achievement.
Set goals to prioritize the important things. If you know what you’re working towards you can make better informed choices to meet your goals. Living a life with purpose means figuring out the things that mean the most to you and pursuing those things. What are you passion about?
2. Direction – Goals not only give you direction, they give you a destination. You need a point to work towards. Think of your goals as your mapped out route to success. Goals not only keep you organized they keep you on track. You can live life passively letting time go by or you can be intentional about where you are headed. Now is the time to start thinking ahead and come up with a plan.
3. Accomplishment – When you set goals and focus in on your passions it enables you to translate what you love into something you can share with others. Coming up with goals means narrowing in on what you want to accomplish. For example if I say I want to improve as a blogger I set goals that are centered around stretching myself in the blog world. (We’ll touch more on this in part two of this series)
Bear in mind, that resolutions are too long, there may be too many and they are not specific enough. Human mind can fully focus on one goal at a time (multitasking isn´t worth it). and that is why we have to plan and create a habit. We will write about creating habit in another blogpost.

I love this, we have always set goals instead of resolutions. They always work out better for us and set a good framework for our future.
Love the message in this post! Especially love the line that dreams are achieved by a million tiny things-it’s so true!! Thanks for sharing this post today, it’s a great one for the start of this new year 💖
I'm really feeling this post! I am definitely more for the goal setting. I love being intentional about things and accomplishing goals I set for myself. Thanks for sharing 😊
I love this thought to make goals. I have never liked the idea of resolutions and have always thought resolutions were a big thing as well. I feel like goals can be accomplished more easily. Great post for the beginning of the new year!
