We are one of those folks, where when it comes to winter we have to be in the mountains. Basically when it is meant to be snow, we follow it. Nothing against people who escape this weather and enjoy their time on a beach, but we prefer the snow wonderland.
In the past years we visited several hotels, where four of them we would like to tell you something more about and provide the inspiration for your up coming visit as we ̶t̶h̶i̶n̶k̶ know, that you would enjoy your stay in these hotels as much as we did.
Riessersee hotel
Hotel named after a lake that it sits by and overlooking the Garmisch partenkirchen town in Germany. The dominance of this hotel was the beautiful fireplace and a cozy reading corner right next to it. We ultimately felt like at home. might not be in a favor of everybody as it has a distinctive style of the hotel. Smoky wood, golden lights, red carpets, kind of like a retro or old times design, but classical and cozy. You have to drive to get to skiing areas, but it might be only a five minutes drive and you can ski on the Zugspitze - isn´t that amazing?

Sedona Lodge
Modern hotel in a typical austrian ski village and possible nice view of the valley, if you book one of the best apartments on the top, which is truly worth it. In walking distance from the sloaps and equipt with herbal sauna to relax after the entire day spent on snow.

Kempinski High Tatras
Truly a wonderful stay we experienced in Slovakia in the hotel Kempinski. It is a historical, but reconstructed building with visibly some soul in it´s walls. From their rooms you can either see the valley on one side or the scenery of mountains and a lake on the other. Interiors are really stylish and in high standard as well as their kind staff. We are pretty sure that you will enjoy your time by the pool, where one window wall is the only thing that stands between you and the white, frozen world out there. You don´t need to move a bit, they will bring the drinks to you.

Rittis Alpin Chalet
It may seem like we favor Austrian Alps, but so far we found the best hotels there and always love to come back to see more. This was the first time we tried a chalet accommodation and we have to say we fell in love with it. This hotel is a true alpine beauty with it´s wooden interiors (also the wooden smell is amazing), huge windows and balconies with views of the mountain. Surrounded by pure nature and filled with soft, typical sound of animal bells on the fields. Enjoy your stay within your apartment by a fireplace with a glass of local wine or visit the spacious sauna and relax with a cup of hot tea on a swing.

Have you chosen your next mountain trip yet? If any of these hotels, or some other one from your personal favorites, we hope that you will enjoy your stay and make incredible memories on the way.
